Last week, my family and I visited the Tate Gallery in Liverpool. We'd heard about a colourful exhibition that was on, and wanted to see it for ourselves.
The exhibition was titled 'Op Art in Focus' and was 'a dazzling display of optical art from pioneering artists of the 1960s to today', featuring 'lines, geometric shapes and eye popping colour to create artworks that fool the eye.'
My favourite part of the exhibition however, was this amazing stripy floor, by Jim Lambie.
I suggested to my husband that we should recreate this floor in our flat, but he's not convinced (yet).
Downstairs we visited another exhibition which was colourful but slightly bizarre.
We had a quick pit-stop in the kids' room where my daughters had great fun using a green screen.
On our way out of the Tate, I was absolutely delighted to see the 'Liverpool Mountain', an artwork by Ugo Rondinone. We were very lucky to see it as it had only been erected the day or so before and wasn't officially open to the public until a few days after our visit. It looked amazing.
I would definitely recommend a visit to the Tate next time you're in Liverpool!
